The ability to regulate one's emotions and not personalize events requires practice. When one can draw back and reflect, one starts the process of regulation.
Can one get going? What gets in the way? When is it okay to procrastinate; when is it not? The ability to start, persevere, and finish a task is one of life's great responsiblities.
